Vegas Gambling Shuts Down by Order of Governor
Nevada governor ordered nonessential businesses to close temporarily and asked residents to stay home. As a result, Vegas gambling shuts down to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. After casinos closed, people in the Las Vegas Strip were scarce.
Also, vehicle traffic was lighter than usual. Encore and Wynn casinos blocked their driveways to stop guests from entering. Shopping malls padlocked their gates as well. The Circus Circus Resort placed a chain-link fence in front of its property.
Governor Steve Sisolak ordered the month-long gambling shut down. It is not just casinos affected by the order. Shot machines in convenience stores and grocery stores need to shut down as well.
Vegas Gambling Shuts Down
The governor orders all nonessential businesses to temporarily close for a month, including movie theaters, gyms, and bars. Restaurants can only offer delivery and takeout. During a press conference, Sisolak told online sports betting sites that he will release a list of what businesses are essential and what are nonessential.
The temporary closures are part of the federal government’s recommendations on social distancing. The guidelines require older adults to stay at home, and people to avoid gatherings of more than ten individuals. Also, they should avoid going to bars and restaurants.

However, it can cause deadlier symptoms to people with existing health problems and older adults, including pneumonia.

Essential businesses are banks, hardware stores, gas stations, pharmacies, and grocery stores. Critical services are fire, health care, transit, and police.
