The Marina Bay Sands Casino reopens after two of its staff tested positive for the coronavirus. The casino resumed its operations Wednesday after it closed for deep cleaning last Monday. Also, it implemented a stricter COVID-19 testing policy for staff.

Its frontline staff members will have routine testing every two weeks. In the past, the casino tested its workers once a month since April. According to online casino reviews, the testing will cover around 5,600 workers, including casino staff.

Another 3,000 workers belonging to a lower risk category will have monthly testing. Also, Marina Bay Sands will provide free testing to its staff who are working from home. The casino resort will still operate on stricter safe management policies and limited capacities. The guidelines are following the government’s latest COVID-19 efforts.

The casino resort will step up the enforcement of safe management policies within staff areas. That way, they can minimize employees’ physical contact. Employees who were in close contact with the infected ones must undergo quarantine procedures. Also, they can opt for a home quarantine and monitor for symptoms.

The two casino staff members who tested positive were dealers. The first one reported he was sick on May 14 and consulted with a general practitioner. He tested negative during the routine COVID-19 testing held on April 21. The second employee was his close contact and reported his sickness on May 15.
