Business Owners Waiting for the Return of Casino and Video Gaming in Illinois

The Gaming Board hasn’t published anything about the return of casino and video gaming in Illinois. However, local business owners have submitted plans on how they can reopen safely. There are talks that gambling locations will be back in business on June 26, when the state goes into Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois Plan.

However, Governor J.B. Pritzker’s plan didn’t mention the industries that will reopen once Phase 4 commences. The board told sports betting solutions media that the resumption of casino and video gaming will depend on the public health conditions of the state.

The Gaming Board gave some hope to local businesses. It said that the earliest that casino and video gaming can resume would be during Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois plan. The board is responsible for ten casinos in the state, along with more than 36,000 video gaming machines.

Return of Casino and Video Gaming in Illinois

Casinos have been closed since the middle of March. It was part of the governor’s plan to slow down the spread of the coronavirus. Phase 4 of Restore Illinois allows gatherings of up to 50 people. Also, some businesses can reopen, including schools, manufacturing plants, bars, restaurants, retail stores, theaters, health clubs, and more.

A pay per head provider learned about two memos from the Illinois Gaming Board. One was for video gaming and the other for casino gambling. It provided guidelines to help owners come up with their reopening plans. Also, they need to have the plans approved by the board before they can reopen.
