The United States Tennis Association (USTA) is still preparing to host the US Open.
According to a recent report, the USTA plans to host the Western and Southern Open (August 20th to August 28th 2020) and the US Open (August 31st to September 13th 2020).
Both tournaments will be hosted at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
There has been growing criticism surrounding the US Open. A number of international tennis stars have stated they may opt out of the tournament depending upon the COVID-19 situation in the US.
Nick Krygios has already pulled out of the US Open and more players could follow.
ATP and WTA Clay Swing Scheduled for September
While some of the world’s biggest tennis stars from Europe may avoid the tournaments in the US, it’s likely they’ll play in the European tournaments on clay this September.
Here are the highlights:
● ATP: Generali Open in Kitzbuhel, Austria (September 8th-13th)
● WTA: TEB BNP Paribas Tennis Championship in Istanbul, Turkey (September 8th-13th)
● ATP/WTA: Mutua Madrid Open in Madrid, Spain (September 13th-20th)
● ATP/WTA: Internazionali BNL d’Italia in Rome, Italy (September 20th-27th)
● ATP/WTA: French Open (Roland Garros) in Paris, France (September 27th – October 11th)
