Tottenham’s Son Heung-min starts military training later this month. The training is part of the requirement for his exemption from military service. According to sports news sources, Son will report to a camp on Jeju Island on April 20.
His military training will last for three weeks. Son returned to South Korea from London last Saturday. The Spurs told sports betting news sites that the trip was for personal reasons. The South Korean football star is still recovering from a broken arm he got during a match last February.
Son earned his military exemption by winning the gold medal for the nation at the 2018 Asian Games. In South Korea, healthy male citizens need to serve in the military for two years. After completing his basic training, Son also needs to spend 544 hours of community service within the next 34 months.
