Indiana Gambling Revenue Back to Normal Despite Coronavirus Restrictions
Indiana gambling revenue soared back to normal levels as casinos reopened after a three-month shutdown. In July, the Hoosier State got more than $1 billion in total sports wagers since sports betting became legal last September.
Also, casinos got identical revenue after payouts. Casinos implemented protocols to limit the number of available table game seats and slot machines. That was according to Indiana Gaming Commission’s report released last Monday.
Horseshoe Casino GM Dan Nita was pleased with the results. They are working hard to provide an entertaining experience for guests during the pandemic. Also, they continue to add to the experience over the last couple of weeks.

According to online gaming news reports, Casino guests need to undergo temperature checks and other screenings before entering the premises. Also, they need to wear face masks. Casinos have strict capacity limits. There are no more than four players at table games. Also, every other slot machine is off.
Based on online marketing services providers, July casino revenue was $176 million. It was $10 million below the income in July 2019. That was when there were no restrictions in place due to the coronavirus.
Horseshoe led all the casinos in the state with revenue of $30 million. The casino is working within the pandemic restrictions. Some of the limitations include repurposing the poker room for additional slots, ensuring in-demand games are available and spreading slot machines across the casino floor.
Also, the casino is attracting new players who are looking for excitement because other entertainment options are not available. With the return of pro sports, casinos find the best bookie software to ensure their sportsbooks attract more players.
In July, the total handle was $71 million. As a result, the state’s total sports betting handle was more than $1 billion in ten months.
