Twins Extended Their Lead to Seven Games as Landers Drops to Third
The LG Twins extended their lead to seven games after they sent the defending champs, SSG Landers, to the third spot. It is the first time in several months that Landers is not one of the top two teams in the KBO.
After dropping the first two games of their homestand against the Twins, 8-4 and 11-2, the Landers dropped to third place for the first time since May. Despite Sunday’s 2-1 victory, the Incheon club is one game behind the KT Wiz.
According to baseball betting prediction experts, the Landers’ time spent outside first and second place this season has doubled, as they spent Sunday and Monday in third. Before May 19 and April 19, the club had only fallen out of the top spots twice.
Twins Extended Their Lead
Following a two-game loss to the ninth-ranked Samsung Lions earlier in the week, the top-ranked Twins swept the Landers over the weekend. According to experts of baseball betting in Korea, the series victory (6-5, 3-6, 4-2) sparked a modest comeback for the Lions, who went on to sweep the sixth-place Kia Tigers this past weekend (12-2, 5-6, 6-4).
Meanwhile, the Landers’ midweek series was swept by the Lotte Giants. The final scores were 6-10, 4-7, and 4-15. According to baseball betting reports, the Wiz began the week with a clean sweep, edging off the Doosan Bears (who were in sixth) with scores of 1-0, 5-2, and 9-8. Despite starting the weekend with an 11-6 loss to the Tigers, the Wiz won the second and third games of the series by scores of 5-4 and 3-0, respectively.
Both series ended in a tie for the fourth-place NC Dinos, who opened the week with a 3-3 loss to the eighth-place Hanwha Eagles and finished with a 4-3 loss and a 10-9 win for a tied series. Then, over the weekend, they faced the first-place Bears and lost the first game 4-1 before returning to win the second game 12-5.
