KBO Ends Season on October 30
KBO ends season on October 30, and the playoff games start on November 1. The Korea Baseball Organization announced that teams would play the 34 makeup games from October 20 to October 30. The KBO postponed the games due to bad weather earlier this year.
If any makeup games were canceled due to bad weather, the KBO will reschedule them as doubleheaders or played during open days. Also, the league will not ask teams to play more than eight days in a row.
The KBO also said that postponed regular-season games with no bearing on the postseason could be played on travel days during the postseason. The coronavirus pandemic delayed the start of the KBO regular season. However, the league still stuck to its full schedule of 144 games.
KBO Ends Season in October
According to sports news reports, there was no All-Star break in July. Also, organizers postponed the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics to next year. Thus, there was no 18-day break for the Olympics during the KBO season.
Based on online sportsbook sources, the KBO tried to squeeze a full schedule into a compressed season. Thus, the league scheduled doubleheaders and makeup games during their off days. In normal circumstances, the postseason begins two days after the end of the regular season.
The postseason starts with a wild card round and then a best-of-three round and a best-of-five round. Lastly, two teams will play in the best-of-seven Korean Series. Baseball and basketball betting fans are expecting a new champion by the end of November.
In KBO history, the latest end of a season was in 2018. That was when SK Wyverns won the title on November 12. The KBO had a midseason break during that year to make way for the Asian Games. It looks like the current season will end later.
